The Kiss (in progress)

This is a new work in the early stages. I'm getting close to getting that "connection." Once I get that just perfect, I'll move on to the refinements. They are such a great looking couple, it would be hard to mess this one up!

and then it ends. Down come the paintings, down come the walls. We pack it all up and head home.

Grand daughter, Olivia, age 5 and 1/2 - was her Grandma's biggest fan. She busily offered everyone my business cards.........with her autograph on the back.........because,,,, she is my model, ya know.

By the time I make it to the show I'm just wiped out. My friend, Sherry, has the best eye for hanging. If it weren't for her, it's hard telling what a hodge podge I'd have going on.

Queeny Park Art Show Crew

I exhibited at the Queeny Park Art Show in September. Putting an art show exhibit together is not an easy task. My thanks to all our friend who rally to my rescue and help Michael and I get it together.

At one time not too long ago there wasn't anywhere to sit in our house. There were paintings everywhere so...........we decided to build a studio on the South end of our old historic home. The brick wall I'm standing by was the outside wall. This was the day we cut the door out. Now it is a beautiful room, 16 x 24, dedicated just to my work. I have wonderful light and lots of space. It's my little piece of heaven. It is so much easier to be productive. I have much to be grateful for. I'll post some new photos now that's it's done.

Dreamy eyes

Dreamy eyes......I love painting children

A Beautiful Young Lady

Thoughtful.........wouldn't you say?

My model stops by

I love it when the model stops by the exhibit.

Award of Recognition - Mosaics, St. Charles, MO 2008

This award came as a surprise. I didn't even know the judge had been in to see my work. I was away from the tent when they first came and my six year old grand daughter kept the secret for an hour or so before they came back. Cute.

The Steckel Girls

This isn't a very good photograph but..... This portrait of these two little girls was a real challenge. The only photo I had to work from was about 30 years old, quite faded and all of about 4 x 6 in size. I love a good challenge. My client gave it to her mother. It had special sentimental attachments.......mother made the red Christmas dresses and Grandma gave them the lockets.

She loved it!

A proud Momma with her new portrait of Audrey and Claire. She probably won't be too proud of being up here sideways. Hopefully, I get it fixed before she sees it.

Thompson girls

The Thompson girls are so pretty. I hope to paint them many times as they grow up. Their mother, Tory, is a wonderful photographer. I'm so NOT left brained. I can't figure out how to turn this right side up. Oh well, I'll put that on my list of things to learn for next week. A portrait always looks just a little spooky in the beginning, doesn't it?

The hands and the horn........yikes

I let this painting sit around for months before I could pull the trigger and face that horn......the final is on the website. I was pleased once it was done but, oh my, the agony along the way.

Rachel - Ballerina

Rachel is my ballerina model. The thing I love about ballerinas is that you can pick a line, any line, and it is pure grace and beauty. Rachel is the inspiration for Blue Ballerina, Ballerina in the Mirror, the Fandango paintings etc. I hope you enjoy her beauty as much as I do.

Constant Companion - a good start

I'm a couple weeks into this.....right now he looks at little mad but it's coming along

Constant Companion....let the creativity begin (please)

This gentleman is certainly full of "character." He and his dog are inseparable. My goal here is to show that "connection" between the two of them. I'll post the finished paining on the web. This is how I always start a painting...with a pencil sketch. It will be titled - Constant Companion. He liked that title.
